Glacier National Park Free
Shuttle System

Shuttle Service Starts July 1
Runs Through September 6th, 2010

Now in it's 4th season, the popular shuttle service along Going-to-the-Sun Road begins in July.

Summer 2007 was the first season for the free shuttle system that ran along Going-to-the-Sun Road.

This program was an instant success, and twice the projected number of riders took advantage of the new service.

Although hikers made up a large number of riders, many were just visitors enjoying the scenic ride without having to drive. Drivers with oversize vehicles should take advantage of this service.

Different sized vehicles run on different sections of Going-to-the-Sun Road but all stop at trailheads, points of interest and at Logan Pass.

A new transit center with ample parking, large rigs included, at the intersection near Apgar on the west end of the road. Restrooms and exhibits are also located here.

The eastern terminal is near the visitor's center near St. Mary.

Funding for the free shuttle service along Going-to-the-Sun Road is provided by Glacier National Park visitor park entry fees.
